Need help installing factory radio

Ok, I really need some help with this guys... I purchased a 2001 Ford Mustang 6 disc changer head unit to install in my fiance's 2001 Mustang GT convertible as her car didn't have the original radio in it when we purchased it. I wasn't sure which head unit to purchase, (CD player, CD player w/cassette, or the 6-disc changer were the options). I went with the disc changer unit. The head unit has three plug recepticles on the back of it, but the car only has two plugs + the antenna coming out to plug into the back of it leaving one of the plug receptacles empty. I thought I heard the disc changer kind of cycle when I plugged it all up. The radio portion worked great, to include the speakers but everytime I try to do anything with the CD portion, it keeps giving me an error message on the display. It won't let me load anything and says it's full, and nothing will eject out of it. I'm thinking maybe it is powered by something that would plug into that 3rd plug recepticle on the back. I am very unfamiliar with Fords let alone their radio units.

My questions:

1. Is something actually supposed to plug into that 3rd plug recepticle on the back of the disc changer?

2. If so, where can I get this harness from, what I mean is - can it be purchased seperataely and added to make the disc changer work?

3. Lastly, If it did require the 3rd harness, I know the one end would go into the back of the head unit, but just curious where the other end would connect to.

Any help with this would be much appreciated. I'm trying to get the car in complete working order for the little lady for her to enjoy, to include the tunes. Thank you.

I see this site is about as active as a brick. I'm guessing no one knows anything about factory radios for these cars.
