'07 v6 Premium not playing MP3s from flash drive

Helo all,
I tried to post this earlier, but I don't see it. Apologies for the duplicate. Anyway, I have a Shaker 500. I followed the procedure in the owner's manual for playing MP3s on a flash drive through the USB port in the console. The display says LINE IN, but nothing happens. I've monkeyed with the volume in case it's on but playing at a low volume. No luck. Any thoughts? I have another audio question but will post that if nobody has a solution for this one.
Thanks in advance.

Not trying to be insulting, I am technologically challenged, but is there a limit to the size of flash drive the shaker can accept? And/or are the files in another format by accident?

All files are MP3. I don't think there is a limit, but it is probably higher than the 8 GB that are available on this particular drive.

Did you try more than one flash drive? sometimes a flash drive is not correctly formatted, and the Stereo can't recognize it. Also examine the files on your flash drive by inserting it into a computer, go to a music files - Then go to "Properties." This will let you know if the files are actually MP3. Just some suggestions.

2006 GT, Strut Tower Brace, Gas Hood Struts, FR Intake Plenum cover, Metal Fuse Box cover, Moroso brake reservoir cover, Rear shock tower brace, Front Bumper Lip Spoiler, JVC DVD Head unit w/ back-up camera, satellite Radio and USB input, 2 - 12" sub-woofers, 4 - 6"x8" speakers, 2 - 6.5" speakers to replace the door subs, 3 amplifiers, LED lights under the hood and in the trunk, chrome e-handle on parking brake handle, chrome cup holder trim, and trunk lid cover with running pony emblem.
