Stereo Amplifier Advice Needed

Need a little help with selecting a car stereo amplifier for my 68.

when I bought this car, it had no radio. When I restored the car, I added a console and unfortunately the only choice for a radio that will fit a 67 - 68 console is a universal model by "retro sound". Not my favorite choice but it was my only choice unless any of you know of a original model available that's reasonable that will fit a console.

The Retro sound works but it puts out about as much volume as 1965 transistor radio with a 9v battery. I have some nice Kenwood kick panel speakers and I am hiding some in the trunk.

I need some recommendations for a small decent amplifier to use with this radio. (No BASS thumpin, kickers, or any of that noise craps the younger kids put in their ricers) I do not want to over power the stock alternator.

Suggestions please ?

Does that "retro sound" have pre-amp outputs? How many channels (speakers) are you looking to power...any sub?

What speakers do you have? RMS power rating...

I'd look for a decent class D amp, PPI has a good rep and very affordable...

Precision Power PPI i320.4 iON 320W 4-Channel Class-D Amplifier

NVX makes some nice micro amps that can be tucked away...

NVX MVPA4 Micro-V 400W RMS 4-Channel Car Amp with Small Footprint

Thanks for the reply. They are 100 watt RMS / 200 watt peak speakers.

I read reviews on both of your recommendations. I order the NVX model.
