Just ran a best of 14.81 @ 92.95mph with a 2.27 60ft time at Famoso in Bakersfield, in 85+ degree weather. My previous best was 15.6 @ 91 with a 2.49 60ft at Fontana, CA. The changes were: used dad's stock 16's GT wheels with 235/55/16 newer tires, unbolted front sway bar, and loosened front strut nuts and gapped plugs to .050" and bored out the MAS sensor hole to .402" diameter (hopefully to let sensor see more air and add more fuel since the plugs seemed to show a little lean).

With the newer tires (also a lot lighter weight than my 18's) I was able to leave the line harder. Also figured out I need to shift into 4th at 5100 and not any higher. It was a lot of fun. My dad got his second and third 12 second runs in his '94 GT on slicks and ported stock heads, stock block and cam with bolt ons, he ran 12.95 and 12.94 with 1.72sec 60ft.

My bro in his '03 2.3L Focus hatch ran 14.93 and 14.94 with drag radials and bolt ons. We all met our goals.

Have not had my 92LX at the track yet, they are in the process of building a new track right now.Im using my buddy's G-TECH right now, here's what i have come up with so far.

Bone stock 5.0 5 speed with a 180 thermostat,new wires,new plugs,new fuel filter and cap and rotor, 273 gears Best time 15.16 @ 96.8mph

Then i started to modify.
1.)My own made up ram air with a flat type K&N air filter 14.90 @ 98.8mph

2.)Then 355 gears,Hoosier D tires 27.5x8.0 from my buddy's super stock car(they were free) Put them on a set of 10 hole rims, Timing set at 14 degrees 14.36 @100.8 mph.

3.)Removed front sway bar,removed A/C,Removed smog pump(delete kit) 13.99 102.5 mph.The day was as close to the day i ran the 14.36.

4.)Now i have added mechanical pillar gauges oil & temp and a 5 inch Tach
with shift light and Mac 1 5/8 equal length headers,2.5 inch BBK H-pipe,2.5 inch flo tubes with 2.5 ultra flo Dynomax Mufflers dumped at the axle for now.I have not made a pass since putting this other stuff on.

5.)Other parts that i already have but have not put on yet are Kenny Brown full length weld on subframe connectors and a Pro 5.0 shifter.

6.)I have one more part to buy for this year and that's it?
I can't decide which "Nitrous system" to buy and im starting to wonder if the factory clutch will take all that im throwing at it.The car has 110,000 kms on it that's about 65,000 miles and the clutch was just done 10,000 miles ago.

I will update on my progress,oh and my elevation here is 750 ft above sea level.

I'm ashamed of myself, and am slapping my hands as I type, but even though this is a MUSTANG site, I can't help but brag about a couple of my friends' cars. How about an 81 Toyota Corolla that drives to the track and does low 10's on street tires with a 468? Or a nasty Nova that does the same? If you are not partial to only 'Stangs, feel free to check out the pics of these cars and more in my picture postings.

My 88 Mustang? I'm gonna GUESS what it would turn, right now, stock, if I drove it to the track. Uummmm... I'm gonna say 23 seconds!
:kooky: Okay, it's a stock 74 Pinto engine some idiot put in to replace the blown-up original 2.3 and it's tire. But I dream at nights about women, my car with a 5.0 and more women.

I wouldn't drive an '81 Corolla if it ran 4.5's at 330 mph. Nova's are cool though.

Good luck on your "Pustang" or "Minto" hybrid.

Now I feel like an idiot, because I just notice most of my pics have been removed. Most like because they are not all Mustangs. But if you wanna see some sweet rides, check out my website at http://prostreet.tripod.com/ProStreetPhotography/

I've attached pics of the two cars I mentioned, plus a dang impressive car you NEVER see: A Honda Accord I spotted at the All Ford Drags a few years ago. I started asking myself, "Hey,how can a Honda be at a Ford race?", and then I noticed the little Ford oval on the grill. Turns out, this bad boys sports a 5.0 out of a Mustang GT, plus all the other running gear. It wasn't as quick as I would have figured, but it sure was a cool ride. Now THAT would be one Honda those big muffler guys would regret getting into a street race with!

my beater..

My 'race car', is a 1979 mustang hatchback.

Little 418 stroker (351w based). Dart block, afr 205 heads, isky solid roller, usual stuff.
Made 722 hp @ 7100 hp and 567 tq @ 5600-5800 a couple weeks ago (at flywheel), on th dyno.
Best it's run (with last years 704 hp), was 9.62 @ 141+ mph.
With a little 150 (toy nitrous system), it went 9.0 @ 149.88 mph, with a 1.28 60'.

Hoping for lots quicker this year.........(and at least ONE 8 second 150+ timeslip). Don't care what I have to break to get it...........................

You can sleep in your race car, but you can't race your house!

I went last spring with just the exhaust and ran a 14.2. I was just wondering how i could get my 60ft down and what you guys think ill run now.
