Timing Lock Out for Drag Car Only

Hello fellow racers. Up to now I have been racing a 1965 Mustang carbureted. Now I built a 1986 Fox EFI to run at the track.

This is a single purpose, bracket race car that is not registered and is never driven on the street.

I have read tons of threads but have still not gotten the answer I am looking for.

Here is my question, HOW SHOULD I SET UP THE CAR as far as timing goes? Do I lock it out or use the SCT chip in the A9L I have and let the computer have it's way with the timing.

1986 GT
MAF Conversion
306 FRPP Crate Engine
X Heads
E Cam
Cobra Upper/Lower
Long Tube Headers
C4 Auto no brake
Aluminum Drive Shaft
8.8" with 3.73 gear
