89 Cobra Clone hatch will not Lock on striker?

Hey Fellas, jus wondering if any has had the same issue with the hatch, of having the lock mechinism not locking on the striker. The hatch was work in fine till one day i went to shut it and it has not been able to lock since. ANY Ideas? Ill buy new parts, thats not the issue. jus need the caus or a cheaper correction the the issue. Pics of my build are up. Still need to ab more photos.

Have you checked to see if the latch mechanism hasnt accidently latched in while it was open? If it has ,you can unlatch it w/ a screw driver.If not, the actual mechanism may need to be replaced assuming youve tried adjusting it.

Is the plastic sleeve still on the striker bolt on the body side? If not, you can get a replacement for cheap at advanced auto.
