Line Lock Issue

I noticed this past Friday at the track that there is a 4 to 5 second delay between the time I release the line lock and when the front brakes release. At first I thought I was having trans problem, but it is definitely a line lock issue. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be the cause and what I should look for to fix it?

Hate to tell ya......line loc is not supposed to be used in that sense. It is for holding brake cylinders and not suppose to be a quick release mechanism.

You want quick release the a manual with a clutch or a automatic with a trans brake.

Trans brake is designed for quick release.

Maybe I didn't explain it properly. I did my burn out, released the line lock and the car would not move for 4 to 5 seconds. I was not launching off the line lock.

Ahh...sounds better!lol. I have noticed in the pass that yea after releasing the car sits there before rolling forward.

I noticed for me, that the tires are still heavy spinning and it takes that delay before they start grabbing.

It never did it before. My line lock is about 10 years old and I am wondering if maybe something is going bad on it. She still holds the car for the burnout, but when I release the lock, the car will not move for 4 or 5 seconds. I tried it at a traffic light. Set the lock, the light turned green, and the car would not roll forward for those few seconds until I can feel the lock actually release. Oh well, guess its time to replace it.
