Forum response time.

General page response time is frustratingly slow today. Like 15 seconds for the Waiting for... message to go away and load the next page.

Hadda go do something in the real world instead.

Yup, it's painstakingly slow. This page has always been slower than any other page I visit, but it's worse now. When I hit post after typing this, I'll sit here for awhile until it actually posts.

Super slow for me too. But not always. It comes and goes.

One nice thing that I have noticed is that the page actually finishes loading now. Because for the past several months, every time I'd open a page, the text and images would load, but the tab icon would keep cycling as if it was still trying to load something. But nothing else would appear, even after letting it sit for several minutes. I'd often hit the esc key just to stop that annoying little animated icon. Looks like I don't have to do that anymore.

Mine does that all the time. It`s still doing it on my 3 day old computer.

Does it give you anymore info in that "waiting for" message? If so, a screenshot of what you see would be good.

If not, are any of you using adblocker of any kind?

Kevin, my average time after clicking anything on the site is between 15-30 seconds to load. It's definitely one of the slowest sites around.

On a very good day, it might take 5-10 seconds, but on some days I click, tab to other pages, tab back (nope, still loading) and then eventually see that the page is back up.

I'm an IT pro. My system is fast enough to give a top fuel dragster pause, and my internet connection (while not fiber) still averages 120MBPS. So not bad.

This is my experience, exactly. I also will click on a link, then tab over to another page because it takes so long. Tab back, nope, back to where I was.

It is just the little pop up stripe at the bottom of the screen that displays the web address of the page that is being waited on. It is always the page I clicked for. It appears to be mostly links that involve higher level navigation, as in changing forums that are the slowest. Once inside a forum thread it is faster to respond.

Yes, I use AdBlock Plus. If I didn't, the extreme amount (or size) of active ads on the site hog all my video memory and the cursor has to fight for time to move around my screen. I have run it for five or six years, and it has been on for this sight when it operates with acceptable response times, which for me is most of the time.

If possible, try turning the extensions off to see if the speed picks up. Sometimes blockers block certain scripts that can hinder performance.
At the moment around 4:20PM EST, I'm getting around 4-5 seconds of loading time when browsing the forum.

How's the speed today? If you're encountering slowness, are you seeing any url that you're hanging on such as "waiting for allfordmustangs.com..."?
