I forgot to mention, electronics is great in modern cars, where just about everything is computer controlled. In my 65 six-cylinder a points dizzy modified for 36 degrees in by 2900 rpm, a good street cam, and Autolite 2100 287 cfm annular atomization carb, things run great. Electronics easier starting is a myth...my 65 starts before I get my hand off the key. Points need constant service is also a myth, if set properly. The real problem is people not understanding them. Pertronix "IS" an improvement if you do not want to replace the points at 5,000 miles. I run a Petronix, but keep points-cond. in the glovebox. The drivers side shot of my 65 is in Oklahoma and the passenger side shot is in Tennessee. Going to the gulf coast this fall. NO, I can't out run a Saleen, GT, or a Cobra, but I can go well past the century mark...I have done it but refuse to say where or when.
