Good find, 90lx. I have split a lot of wood in my time but never with a knife. Now that I watched your video suggestions I can't believe it never occurred to me to try it. I sent the link to one of my nephews, a true knife guy. As predicted, he loved it. I think you've opened up a new dimension in his hunting/outdoor experience.
There sure is a lot of stuff on youtube, eh? Something for everyone.
All the best.
Ha, thanks. Well I'll go ahead and let the cat out of the bag, that's me.
Maybe I should start a "Mike's Adventures Series."
That knife is a KaBar/Becker BK2, it's a tank. It's 1/4" thick steel all the way from tip to pommel.
Here is mine w aaftermarket handles, or "scales" as they're called in the knife world.
You can find the knife for around $70 on Amazon, but the plastic sheath it comes with is horrible. It actually dulls the blade. So you don't want to use that one, you'll want the to buy the polyester sheath, so that'll add another $17'ish to the total. But the one it comes w is a no go.
The stock handle is ok, but it's not as near as nice as the aftermarket ones. Mine are synthetic, but look like wood.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
