There's nothing wrong with having and liking an automatic transmission in your car. It's just personal preference. Sorry to hear about your STD, though.

Cool stick please

ahhh..I prefer manual..esp if driving something as powerful as the GT. Acura makes that triptonic option..Does the Mustang ever have that option?

Ditto on that, hope it's under control.

When I bought my auto '05 I lived in Michigan and I didn't like driving it.

I moved to Houston and to the nation's 7th worst traffic, and I commute to Bryan 3 times each week.

I put about 45,000 miles per year on my car.
I have had knee surgery.

After one year, I hated the auto so bad (both in heavy Michigan snow and in heavy Houston traffic) I traded it in for a stick, and 3 years later, I can't be happier!

My next car will be a stick (I'm SERIOUSLY looking at an '11 GT500, and every car after will be manual too.

The day you'll get me back in an auto will be the day I'm riding in the wrong end of a hearse, and I'll find a way to hate that too

I have a Lentech AOD 4R70W in mine. I think I'm gonna put a Powerglide in her though here soon. If you need any info on it jump over to our forum on here and the boys will be glad to help.

I think they should take a page from the m3, gti, evo x and gt-r and go with a semi-automatic twin clutch system that lets you decide between tiptronic shifting and automatic shifting. those systems shift faster than a stick or an automatic, dont require left foot action and don't have a wasteful torque converter to sap your horsepower.

I get a lot of moaning about my automatic. i dont let it bother me because i know it's consistent and quick, but i can't deny that i really want a manual.

I drove my friends GT auto with similar mods as my stick, what a boring ride, I felt like I was suppose do somthing beside just stomping on the gas, yeah I got a chirp out of second gear but with my stick I can make it fish tail out of control if I let it, or I can just take off, by the way he can not keep up with me and he has a dyno tune vs my Tillman's custome tune.

2008 Black Mustang GT/CS, 5 speed manual, G/T appearance package, FRPP 4.10 gears, Charcoal Aluminum interior panel, Interior upgrade. Roush TVS stage 1 SC , Stang Hi dyno-jet 93 Oct tune, Pypes LT's X-pipes and delete mufflers, MGW shifter.

Yeh, it all depends on the mods. With a auto you loose a small amount of that power. With mine and my auto it's not a boring ride for sure. But I have a boat load of power.

I have a stick 07 GT right now. The time may be coming for an auto. Can you get an auto on a 2011 GT500? And also as a convertible?

07 GT. Exterior mods n/a. Engine mods, see profile.
One of the more powerful cars around.
One of the slower cars around.
Makes me feel like a kid every time.

You can put a auto in a GT500 including a vert but it's more for a racing application. They found that none of the auto's could handle the power and that is why they are all standard transmissions. I only know of either something like a 2 speed or a 3 speed with OD.

The only way I would trade my GT500 would be for an automatic version with paddle shifters and launch control.
