Any one know how many 2010 GT500's being built?

I have been trying to find this info on how many they will eventually produce? So far no luck. Seems to be a very elusive number to find. I have read the articles regarding a build of 2000, but it is old and I think they will produce many more than that? Thanks for the help.

I too had read an article about the number being limited. Probably has to do with the economy. Contact Shelby, I'm sure you can find someone to shoot you an e mail.

Found a couple of conflicting numbers. I think a limited number due to the C.A.F.E. Wouldn't want to guess on the 2010's.

That's correct
I ordered mine through the overseas car program and right in the middle of the wait for mine, they call me and say that the 2010 year model numbers have been cut to 2000 because of the economy. I was lucky to even get mine.

If I remember correctly, I read something awhile back too saying Ford was only going to make 2,000 GT500s but I can't say for sure if it was official or just a rumor.

I found this awhile back on the Team Shelby site. This is why I have been looking for more current info as to how many. It's also why I am confused as to how many or what to believe any more? Frustrating to say the least and I do appreciate your help/input, Thanks to All.

*UPDATE: We reached out to Ford to ascertain the veracity of this Team Shelby document, and they have categorically denied the website users' claims. 2010 Mustang GT500 production has NOT been limited to 2,000 units, and the report is inaccurate. Ford does not report volume figures for the GT500.

You never know. Roush was only going to put out 300 of the '07' 427R's till they really started selling, they ended up selling 1025 of them. Hind sight will tell.

My guess is one or two things happened.

1) They want to keep the number a secret until they need to report them for financial reasons. There are a few theories why they would do this that I can think of but none of them seem likely to me.

2) They anticipate not meeting a maximum number of units for any number of reasons so they don't want to report what the maximum would be as they would only have to double their efforts to make sure the correct number of units sold was represented.
