Please keep us updated on any repairs. My 2012 grinds about 1/2 the time going into 2nd (only at high RPM/high throttle), but I haven't taken it anywhere yet because I don't have a local Ford dealership.

Got my '11 back last week after the transmission was replaced. Still have the grind.

I talked to their service manager and the tech. and most of the people they had test drive it really had to try hard to get it to grind. I'm trying to apply pressure to the left as I bring back the stick and it seems to work most of the time.

I'm not sure if it's me shifting slower because I'm doing it different yet. After a week or two getting used to it I think I'll know. I'm willing to put the effort into shifting differently as long as I don't have to slow it down too much.

Not sure what my next step is going to be if it doesn't work out. More than happy with the effort the dealership has put into trying to make it right. I called Ford after the first attempt to fix it didn't work and have been in contact with Kathy and she has been very helpful as well.

What you are discribing sounds like a lazy clutch slave cylinder, could be the master though. Its a simple test: If you double clutch it fast and this solves the problem then its poor extension or throw on the slave...By double clutch I mean a quick stab on the pedal as you throw it to neutral and then a second quick stab on the pedal just as its going into gear as between 2nd and 3rd.... best regards Plum PS This used to be a big problem in many foriegn sports cars some years back....

Update: They took the car apart today to find out they need 4 specialized tools that none of the local dealers have. ETA for new tools is August 18th, although they are working with ford to try and get them sooner.

I could be in for a long repair...

KEEP US POSTED....I am curious if these parts fix the issue. Sounds like a few weeks away.....and we will know. I hope it fixes the problem. It seems like a lot of guys are still dealing with this issue after several attempts.

My girl went in on Tuesday... I got the call from my new "friend" at customer service - Cynthia - on Monday. The dealer ship knew her and it made the process go so much easier. I went for a test run with the transmission specialist. He managed to get one and only one power shift without the grind. Ironically on his first try. By the way he handled the car, I knew he was a driver. He did get it twice to grind and look at me and said. That ain't good.. She's going to have to come out.

I got an update call yesterday from Cynthia to say she spoke with the dealer and they put in an order for parts - which would imply to me they already have the trans out... That's pretty fast!

It's scary to read above about guys still having the issue AFTER they were "repaired." I can only cross my fingers now and pray they get mine right.

Cynthia said she'd call me tomorro with another update.

Update: FIXED!!!

I just picked up the car today and did 5 full rpm shifts from 1-2 with no grind! There's a tiny delay getting into gear, but it goes and no grinding. The car is seriously fast!

They had to replace 1st and 2nd gear synros.

Zimm, congrats on getting her fixed. Can you explain what you mean by tiny delay?

Well it doesn't let you slam it all the was back in one quick motion like my past cars (Subaru STi, MX-5), but it does shift fast enough to blow the rear tires loose on the 1-2 shift! So I'm sure it's fine. The TR6060 is a seriously heavy duty tranny, I'm sure you can't shift it as fast as a smaller/lighter one.

I got the call yesterday that my Shelby should be ready tomorrow for pick up! Less than two weeks... I'm amazed.
When I asked was was done, the Advisor began to run down the list of parts
Gears, synchos, shift fork... He then stopped and said... Looks like the entire thing was rebuilt with all new parts...

So I'll provide a breakdown when I get the paperwork tomorrow... :laughlitt:kooky:

Update: Our car has been at the dealer since August 12. We dropped it off and went camping. We got home yesterday and had a message saying to call them. I am UPSET!!!!! The parts are on back order. We were supposed to be the lead car in a parade on Saturday. The village president had asked for a ride for the parade. They have a car show and burn outs and he really wanted to ride in the car. We had to tell him we couldn't do it. Not to mention the fact that summer is winding down and nice driving days are going fast.

Bummer! I made sure the dealer had the parts in stock before I took the car in. Or course they didn't have 4 of the specialized tools needed for the repair- but that only took another day. You should ask them about the specialized tools too so you don't have any more delays...

Well, my car is still sitting at the dealer. I would urge any of you who are going to take your car in for repair to make sure they have the parts first. I have done it all by the book. My CSM doesn't return phone calls and no one seems to know when parts will be available. To say I am upset would be a huge understatement.
It is perfect convertible weather, the parade and car show are tomorrow and all I can do is look at the empty garage space
