2008 Ford Mustang convertible rear bumper

The rear bumper of my 2008 Mustang convertible is separating from my quarter panel. I’m kind of stuck on how to properly align and fix this problem. I know this is a relatively common issue from fellow mustang owners I’ve encountered in the streets. Any suggestions on how to fix this/ what parts or brackets I may need?

Ignore the dirty car, it just snowed here! Thanks for your help.

I think it is because the clips on the inside that hold the bumper cover on are losing their grip . . . pretty sure the solution is to replace those clips . . . a decent body shop can do this pretty quick and cheap so it might be worth paying them to do it . . . I had this problem on my 2010 and I paid a body shop something like $200 to do both sides if I remember correctly . . . it is much better now, though still not as tight as I would like

Thanks! I have been in contact with ford parts and they gave me a diagram of what the bumper assembly consists of. But I don’t seem to see anything around the side with the bumper. Maybe just bad design on the S197 mustangs?

Wonder if anyone had any home solutions, if not I guess I’ll be looking for a reasonably priced body shop.
