Get sequential turn signals back

Hi!

I recently bought an imported S550 GT here in Switzerland. Now in order to easily pass inspection etc., the previous owner changed the turn signals so that they all light up at the same time, instead of them lighting up sequentially.
These sequential blinkers are completely legal though, so I'm looking to change them back to their original form. Does anyone here have an idea how I could do that?

Cheers and thanks in advance,
Vincent

Several ideas come to mind. One would be to determine what method Ford used in building the car. Another would be to investigate whether the multitude of aftermarket offerings have developed a kit to install sequentials on cars without them. Yet another, and probably the way I would do it, would be to use cascaded solid-state adjustable delay relays to illuminate the second lamp perhaps 1/4 second after the first, which remains "ON", then the third lamp after 1/2 second, all three remaining ON for a chosen length of time, perhaps 1 second more, at which time the controlling flasher unit will extinguish all three, the cycle then repeating again until the flasher is cancelled. The same time delays would be used for both rear tail lights. imps

There are kits to convert the EU lights to US-style lights, but I'm not sure if that will work since everything is still from the original car, they just did some fancy coding in order to change the turn signal style. I was thinking of just getting a new tail light harness off of eBay for $30-$40 and see if that will work. There aren't really any specialists near my area that I could ask unfortunately.

Since the PO is the one that changed the turn signal operation, getting a replacement harness or a new one from a parts supplier should get you back to original. I'd try to get a wiring diagram to see how the original system was set up. I've found factory service manuals online (in CD format) for about $30.

You could probably find a used harness here in the States fairly easily but I don't know how many Mustangs made it overseas to your area.
