Yep, am seriously thinking of making a move back to the mighty mustang.

Really want to see some great numbers to help solidify my decision.

I don't care what anybody will say. Those are solid numbers.

I think people have grown accustomed to the 40 hp increases every time a new model or engine has come out over the last 10 years. That's just not a realistic trend over the long run.

Was hoping the Ecoboost would have a bit more hp (320 or so), but otherwise these are pretty solid numbers.

I was thinking Ecoboost, but I think I might just spend the extra dough and go for the GT.

Am curious what ecoboost will do with a tune. Start nipping at the v8's heels?

Damn I'm good, only off by 2 on the hp AND torque....

Someone nailed the HP# right on the head, though

2015 Mustang 4-cyl EcoBoost to Make 310-hp, 320 lb-ft

Ford has finally released power ratings on the 2015 Mustang engines.

The base 3.7-liter V6 loses 5 horsepower this year, bringing its total to 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Moving up, the all new 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine cranks out 310 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane gasoline.
On the top end, the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 gets a small boost of 15 hp and 10 lb-ft of torque, taking the total to 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
Pricing according to a leaked document puts the base model at $24,425, while bumping up to the EcoBoost engine will take the price up to $25,995. For a base-model V8-powered Mustang, customers will have to drop $32,925.

Haaaaaayyyyyy, wait a second; It just dawned on me....

2015: 3704 lbs/435 horsepower=8.5 lbs/hp

2014: 3618 lbs/420 horsepower=8.6 lbs/hp

That's like, almost NO difference at all, not really a measurable difference at the strip...

I hope the IRS really makes up for it on the road course!

When the new Camaro is released the 5.0 will get a bump. I'll bet Ford left a lot on the table with this motor, since they changed the internals so much.

2015 Gt with perf pack/Guard Green/MBRP race exhaust/Steeda shifter bracket/ ....... more to come

Yea, it will handle better for sure...

Overall, I think I am going to keep my 2011. I have no real reason to upgrade for a rounding error worth of power.

I have no hate on the car, it is very powerful and looks pretty good. It just doesn't catch my eye like the 2011 did, or that the C7 vette currently does.

2011 Mustang GT, Black with Black stripe.
6 Speed Manual.
3.73 + Brembo Brake Package.
Comfort Package.
Charcoal Black Interior.
