Carry over parts: Adios 8.8" rear gears

I'm wondering how many parts will carry over to the new Mustang, but so far, as details come out, more and more look like all new.

I read on Car and Driver that while the 2015 Mustang will essentially use the 8.8" differential housing, they modified it to accept a 9.8" ring gear and pinion. I hope Ford Racing offers up gear options once the cars start being delivered. I'm curious why they moved away from 8.8" gears, NVH possibly?

Additionally, if you get a manual trans car, your differential housing is going to be steel, while automatic trans cars get an aluminum housing. The reasoning Car and Driver offers is that the auto's won't be as tough on the driveline as manual trans cars, less shock, so you get the wait savings as a trade off.

My guess is that little to none of the aftermarket parts will be direct carry overs but none will be really different, might just need new shapes to accommodate the cars style.
