For all the 2015 mustang added weight haters...

I've been watching Ford racing's posts on Facebook recently and they've been hinting at a 1/4 project they've been working on for some time now. They FINALLY releases the details. Basically, with full exhaust (headers, removing the cats (probably an x-pipe too), a tune, and some slicks, they managed to run a 1/4 mile in 11.77 seconds! Despite the weight and IRS, this car has potential on the strip! Thats a good time given the mods IMO, definitely the same if not a little quicker than the previous gen cars with similar/same mods THAT I'VE SEEN. For example, my 13 had full exhaust overhaul, tune, a few suspension mods (control arms, sway bars, pan hard), and a CAI when I ran a 11.79(with radials of course). Now I'm not saying there is no one who has run faster in the old gen, OR that adding mods makes up for the fact that the car is (supposedly) a little slower 0-60 times stock. I'm just saying, for *most* of us who are concerned with those numbers..we like to take our cars to the track and mod them. So this proves that the new model can definitely hold it's weight (pun intended). Here's the video ford racing released along with the stats from their test https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kulx2AfNZuY

oh and side note: they also put similar mods on the ecoboost and ran a 12.56 AND tested out the Roush supercharger kit and ran a 10.97!

haha well..unfortunately they'll never please everyone with that. Matter of opinion. I happen to like the looks based on videos/pictures. Have you seen it in person? Most people I've talked to who have said they liked it MUCH better in person than from the photos.

It does look better in person!

I think this media stunt is a bit dickish because the cars and mods are not readily available to the public. Way to dash hopes for the fans.
