2015 live axle swap?

I'm just curious. Are any of the aftermarket vendors making or planning on building a live axle swap kit for the hardcore drag racers?

Do you think there would be enough demand to make it worth while cost wise or r&d wise?

I haven't heard anything. All I have heard is going to a live axle set up is gong to require a lot of modification to get it to work. I have a feeling it would be very very very expensive to do.

Yes, but what can be done to control the wheel hop that is inherent in IRS. It's an easy fix with SRA.

Ford racing already has the parts developed to stop the wheel hop..just a matter of time before they bring them to market!

Thought that Ford was working on a solid 9" rear for their Cobra Jet. That link showing the Driveshaft Shop IRS pro-type sure looks to be a 9" with the removable center section and strong enough for anything.

I for one really hope this happens... that means that swapping an IRS into my S197 would also be possible and there would be used IRS setups available to buy

although realistically speaking, it'd prolly just be cheaper for me to just buy a 2015

An IRS for the S197 shouldn't be all that hard to do. You have plenty of solid mounting points under the rear of the car. It might cost some coin but there are plenty of IRS differentials to choose from and all you really need to do is build a rear subframe to house the diff and mount the control arms to. Again it would be spendy considering a tubular replacement for cars that come with IRS stock usually cost 2-4k without shocks differential or axles.

I highly doubt it would be effective to try to swap a used IRS from the S550. The amount of modification needed would probably make it nearly impossible to use that setup.
