Driveshaft

Does anyone know if the 2015 v6 mustang comes with a single piece drive shaft or is it still the 2 piece? Thank you.

I'm pretty sure all the models have the same 2-piece drive shat design as the outgoing model, unfortunately.

I really hope that's not the case. I read that ford actually went on forums to see what the major complaints are. And obviously one of them was the drive shaft being 2 piece. I guess i gotta wait till i get my in. Hopefully no more than 4 weeks left.

Actually it is two piece but it is NOT the same as the old one...at least mine on my PP car is not. Mine has a large rubber donut for the first joint at the back of the transmission than a shaft and a bearing. Then after the middle bearing they have a universal joint instead of the constant velocity joint they had on the s197, and at the differential they have a CV joint.

The two piece shaft is a safety item. It allows the engine to go under the car in a sever front collision rather than into the passenger compartment.

thats good to know, hopefully the new one is better than the first. I hated that clunky driveshaft on my 13', but still I wish they went with a 1 piece.

Oh i see thats cool. My only complaint about the 2 piece is the top speed. After hearing stories of the drive shafts blowing up every time i do over 120 mph (legally not on the street), i get scared of it blowing up. My current 2012 pp never had a problem with it thankfully but i would definitely like to know i can go 150 if i wanted to without any fear of stuff blowing up.
