Autoweek Comparo 2014 vs 2015 GTs

I found this article on Autoweek that compares on three tests the 2014 GT vs the 2015 GT.

Its very interesting, IŽd say pretty objective, and the results are so close that honestly calling a winner is kind of a stretch.

The 2014 had the track pack, and the 2015 is a regular GT

Looks like the right "performance" conclusion...a push. No doubt the interior is somewhat better and the ride is somewhat smoother - on rough road - due to the IRS. Nice job on the comparison.

Silly waste of time. They just have to write something no matter how ill conceived. A track pack car against a none performance pack car.

The '15 has much better high end pull compared to the '14. In particular speeds above 90 it appears.

Not sure why they didn't wait and test a TP vs. PP car. I am sure the handling aspects would've been far, far different given the fact we know the '15 GT PP is 1.5 seconds faster arrow the straits at willow vs. '14 TP driven by Randy Pobst.

Who's to say they won't in the future? The '14 is owned by a writer at AW, so it will be available for future comparos. In contrast to what others are saying, that the non-TP GT did pretty well against the fastest '14 GT available is pretty impressive and sets the stage for a subsequent comparo with a '15 GT+PP.

I think it would also be great if AW or another group of journalists were able to compare a '14 GT+PP, '13 Boss LS, and a '15 GT+PP.

Gawd that front end is awful. THE very first thing I'd do is replace that grill with an all black one w/ pony delete

Actually, this comparison shows "just how good" FORD had made the Mustang live axle - when compared to the new "stock" IRS. The road course numbers were really interesting because the 2014 had a 10 mph lower top speed. There is never a "perfect comparison," but there are a lot of learnings in the "imperfect" comparisons.
