Post The Cyclone engine is still relevant

I am opening this thread to read the opinions of fellow enthusiasts about the 2015 Mustang drive-train changes. Don't you guys think they removed the performance package trim on the V6 just to help sales of the ecoboost. Ford is known for making V6 owners feel like lower class, its not nice that they now release a 4 cylinder that makes more torque and at earlier RPM's than us cyclone engine drivers

If you feel 'Lower-class' that is simply in your own mind.

Ford isn't doing the things that it does to be 'mean'. The things it is doing simply make business sense.

PS. Why do you think that the engine has not "reached it's potential in the aftermarket industry yet". What potential would that be? Is it a child striving for perfection? It's simply a hunk of metal with 6 holes in it. The hunk of metal with 8 holes in it, is already there to reach a higher "potential"

Should 05-09 4.6 owners feel like they are lower class because the 11-14 V6 makes five more horsepower too?

What about the 2v 4.6 owners? The most those engines ever made was 260 hp.

Time moves forward, technology gets better and new engine designs of any size become more efficient and make more power than their predecessors.

Deal with it.

Do like most of the other 3.7 owners here, if it bothers you that much. Trade it in and get a V8.
I can afford an 11-13 5.0 anytime but I love this car. It doesn't "bother me" what the guy next to me at the light has. Period.
I've never lived my life trying to "keep up with the joneses". Never have, never will.

Good philosophy, I think it's the area I live in that affects me. I live in Houston Texas, and over here it is like the locals worship V8 engines. 90% of the muscle cars here are in V8 trim, people would rather buy a GT preowned in base trim with big miles on the clock just to have the 8 cylinder engine. I actually think Houston may be the city with the most Mustangs, they are at every traffic light. It just kind of bugs me how often people tell me that's not a mustang, or why didn't you get the 5.0. It makes me laugh when 2v gt owners insult me

I've bought a new V-8 for many years and will continue to do so.

I am only working for a good deal.
