One of my family members has the FORD retired employee discount... I was wondering if anyone here knew what percent discount this gave if i bought a new mustang? I was looking at the very base manual trans v6 model, around 23,000... i have heard it could be 15-25 percent? but im not sure. anyone have any info? or used their discount

I hope you get the answer you are looking for, but I really don't think their is a set standard for Discounts with dealerships because they play numbers so much. The best price they can do is say 38K and they are losing 2K. You go to a different dealership and the best price they can do is 36K and they to are losing money but somehow only 1K and you are comparing the same new car with same options. Yes this is a real world example.

I was told many times when I asked about a similar discount called X-Plan and was told they couldn't apply it as the price I had was better than the X-Plan price... Blah Blah Blah...

I like buying cars a dealerships vs private party as I feel like it is a safer bet. Although the more I deal with them the less I like them. I guess you could say it is a love hate relationship, but the name stealership is really coming to be a good name for most dealerships these days. haha

i hear ya on the "stealership" term... i use it a lot as i used to take my car there for some service.

Anyways, Im not sure of the exact plan he has (ill ask tonight) but his son used it for a Ford Focus ST and got out the door for 22,000 after financing and all that.

It does depend on the dealership, but what if i was to customize one from the ford website? Does ford themselves lose profit? or does the custom car have to be brought to a dealer?

Im confusing myself now hahaha

Yeah I see a few NEW 2015's ST's with in 300 miles of my area for around 20-23K and then of course more for 25 and up... So who knows if a past employees discount was applied or what got him that price. haha

I can tell you specifically what the A/Z-Plan, D-Plan, and X-Plan prices are, as compared to MSRP, for the 2016 GT Premium that I just ordered:

For reference, this is the configuration with MSRP:
2016 GT Premium ($36300)
Premier Trim ($395)
GT Performance Package ($2495)
Navigation ($795)
Enhanced Security Package ($395)
Destination & Delivery ($900)

MSRP: $41280
X-Plan: $38799 (6% off MSRP)
D-Plan: $37236 (9.7% off MSRP)
A/Z-Plan: $37136 (10% off MSRP)

So, good discount, but nowhere near 15-25%.

I used maths.

MSRP: $41280
X-Plan: $38799 ((41280-38799/41280) = 0.0601 = 6% off MSRP)
D-Plan: $37236 ((41280-37236/41280) = 0.0979 = 9.8% off MSRP)
A/Z-Plan: $37136 ((41280-37136/41280) = 0.1003 = 10% off MSRP)

Also, thank you! I can't wait for delivery!

D-plan is dealership employee only. A-plan is employee at Ford factory Z-plan is Ford retiree, D,A and Z-plans are almost the same price which depending on the vehicle it's could be any where from $3,000 to $5,000 back of invoice and you still are available to any or all rebates you qualify for. One of the best ways to buy any Ford vehicle.

2012 GT Preimum, Silver/Black, Nav, Boss Manifold, Throttle body, Airaid intake with tune, Bolra Atak exhaust and long tube headers, 20" Black wheels, GT500 spoiler. Eibach Sport Pro shocks struts and springs, Ford Racing Swaybar kit, Whiteline Panhard bar.

each dealership is different in pricing etc, if one says they can't because there losing this much is false because they can. if one those plans they can still use and dealer gets a kick back to make of some of the lose. best I have seen with out any plans 15%.

Yes, pricing is different, based on incentives and other factors, but Ford Plan pricing is the same across all dealers that participate. The only variation with them is when there are rebates available.

I'm getting some $500 rebate on mine, and if there's another rebate out there when I purchase, I'll get that one, too.
