Factory 'over the top' stripes

I have ordered a triple yellow GT convertible with black factory 'over the top' racing stripes. Can anyone tell me if they fade from solid black in the middle of the car to lighter at the front and rear of the car, as they appear to in the Ford configurator...or are they solid black over the entire length of the car from front to back. My preference is solid all the way. My dealer here in Australia has not seen any delivered and has no idea, many thanks!

Hi Teddy,

I haven't seen any stripes yet which have a gradient fade to them. I am pretty sure they should be solid black. Do you have an example photo of the one you have seen? Sometimes it's just the way the light shines when the photo is taken that makes it a bit misleading and gives the wrong impression of what it actually looks like.

I don't think ford ever did a mustang with fading stripes. ALSO! since you got a convertible, I'm 99% sure that it wont even have stripes "over the top" they will just be on the bumpers, hood and trunk lid. They will definitely be solid.

I need to see a picture of a ragtop with stripes on the roof. Never happened before.

Thanks for the prompt reply guys, the pic I have attached is directly from the Ford online car configurator (Build and Price). You can see the fade I was talking about in the picture...I am aware that the stripes will not go over the convertible roof

Wow, that looks terrific. That is obviously purposely faded (ghosted) paint, and it looks awesome.

Yes, we are also aware that the stripes will not be on the ragtop . We just saw a chain and pulled it a little.

Me likey blacked out roof Mo Betta.

Never saw the 2016 roof just that way before. That may even look good on my 2005. Where's my photoshop... Me go play now. No, might not look as good, I just remembered my 2005 is not a "Fastback", and I think it needs that rounded window cut across the "trunk" area. Mine is simply flat. drat. The 2016 rounded rear window gets lost in the black area from that view angle, and becomes part of "The Effect".

The only black roofed non-black S197's I've seen are the ones with the glass roof, and I am NOT doin' that in Florida.

By the way, when is the Hatchback version coming?

Here is a thread I started over on M6G as I wanted to see pics of cars with these stripes as well.

Got all sorts of replies & pics ... found a video of a yellow car, but it has since been sold and the video is now gone.

Good pics on other colors showing how they fade though.

As these are OE Ford Stripes, your local Ford Dealer would be your best bet. If they have no clue, try contacting one of the bigger Ford dealers in the US, they should be able to help you.
