S550 GT ordered!

I ordered my S550 GT/PP on 31-AUG, and spoke with my dealer rep on Friday. They have a VIN number, and I'm scheduled for build the week of 21-SEP (next week).

Anyone have an idea of how long the build/delivery process takes? I'm getting antsy!

That's about what I was expecting. The new car manager at the dealership originally said to expect the vehicle to be delivered the week of 26-OCT, so that's what I had been planning on, but he noted that the car should be delivered about two weeks after the build date. Obviously, that's much earlier than the last week in October.

We shall see! I'm hoping the dealership rep has some more information for me soon. I'll be checking FordETIS constantly next week for build updates!

Wow! I'm surprised it's taking that long!

My dealer told me that they've only been allocated two VINs for special orders, thus far, and only one for a regular dealer inventory order. I received the one that they had available the week of 31-AUG. Who knows what your dealer had in store.

What did you order?

I grabbed a Race Red GT Premium, with the Performance Package, Navigation, Enhanced Security Package, and Premier Trim with Ebony Seats.

GAH! I'M SO AMPED!

I ordered a V6 coupe with the 051A package, automatic trans, 3.55 axle ratio and the rear sensing alert. My car will be a fair weather daily driver. I'm really impressed with how the V6's perform. One of the guys in my Mustang club has a 3.7 with a chip and 2.73 gear that turned 14.07. I know the 5.0's are a second faster, but if I want to go faster, I have a blown 91.

Was going to ask why you went auto. I guess for a daily, its better. Especially if you have the blown 91. Its been 14 years since I drove a stick Mustang. I had forgotten how much fun they really are.

2015 Mustang V6. The 'Go' came from the factory. Working on the 'Show' part.

I went with the automatic transmission so my wife can drive it too. She can drive a stick, but I think 6 speeds might be too many gears. I also drove a 6 speed and wasn't thrilled about how it shifted. The 6 speed is made in China and it required some extra side pressure to get it in 6th. I think there are aftermarket shift improvements that can be made. The 6 speed automatics have low gearing in 1st, which gets them going like having a higher, numerically, rear end.
