Green Hornet Concept Mustang Up For Sale

The 1968 Greet Hornet Mustang GT-500 EXP is a one-off custom, concept car that many people thought had been crushed, like most concept cars. The car is thankfully still in amazing shape and will be on the auction block this January at Barrett- Jackson.

After the success of the 1967 California Special Mustang, Ford built the so-called "Green Hornet" to see study the possibility of a nationally-available version of the California Special.

Featuring a C6 automatic, a gold interior, a 390 V8 and that amazing green paint, Ford decided not to pursue the project. The car was then sent to Shelby where it became a pet project of sorts of both Carroll Shelby himself, and Fred Goodell, Shelby America's chief engineer.

Getting tasty upgrades like independent-rear suspension, unique rear-disc brakes and an experimental fuel-injection system this machine is one of a kind.
