Thinking about buying on 03 terminator

Here's the car that I am looking at: 2003 Convertable Cobra CA Car Ford Mustang Terminator

He's asking $12k for it. I only have $9k cash available. I offered him the $9k I have plus trade for my 99 v6 vert, which has a bluebook value of about $4k. Think it's a good deal? The 90K miles on it kinda scare me.

12k isn't a bad price i don't think as you see alot of termis in the 20s!! As for the mileage i guess it depends on how well the car was taken care of and what kind of shape its in. If it was taken care of, maintained well, and had no damage disclosures i would not be scared of it. I love the terminators!!! Definitely the way to go if your looking for a cobra in my opinion!!!!

The reason why it's $12K is because of the salvage title, if not it would be thousands more. I'm not feeling the rear wheels sticking out from the fenders so far, that's just hideous, what's up with that?

I'd run over there with the cash, the parts alone are worth 20K...I think some never consider that

Well, I talked him down to $11,500 and he won't go any lower. KBB gives the car a value of around $15,500 but they won't take the salvage title into consideration, which I've heard drops the value down, obviously. I think $11,500 is good, but the salvage title and the miles kinda bother me a little bit. I've heard stories about insurance companies dishing out grief for salvage cars. I can't just go check it out either because he's about 2 hours away from me. BTW, the tires sticking out are just a minor thing. Getting different rims/tires are not a big deal.

That's kinda how I am leaning also. I talked to a guy earlier today who said he's purchased a couple of these 03/04 termis with 100k on the odometer over the years for a "good price" only to find out later that they've been beaten to piss and become money pits.

Thanks for the link. I'll check them out. I have a feeling that they're all going to be out of my price range though. Need to keep saving up I guess.
