Hey guys I know I'm gonna get a log of hate from this but I wanted to swap the manual 5 speed in my cobra to an automatic due to long distance traveling I do. Someone told me an automatic from a 99 gt would work is that true? Or would I need something else?

Also the cobra is a 99

The trans will fit right in and bolt up but without a computer or manual valve body it's not gonna shift

I really thought I would be able to enjoy an auto trans in the same car I loved as a stick. I don't, there's no down shifting and shutting down ricer flybys with an auto. The seat of the pants feeling is gone. I bought my same car with an auto to race. Got the auto for sale and putting money into the manual. Maybe I will enjoy it more if I end up going the manual valve body route, but I've yet to find some detailed info on how to do it with my transmission. Anywho, I'd say if you like driving your Mustang in a somewhat aggressive manner, you're not gonna enjoy the auto near as much.
