Hey guys, im just wondering if i should invest the amount of time and money that i want to into my car with this many miles on it. I already blew the head gaskets about a year ago, and since then ive had a couple radiator hoses break, but nothing major. i keep her lubed up and im always checking fluids and listening for any noises. id love to begin moding it, but:
what precautions should i take? are there some things that i should get replaced now to extend my cars life? the black stallion has been nothing but good to me, so i by all means want to be honest and true to her... lol
Well what would you consider "too hard"? right now i want to get the exhaust done, T-lok, and gears. but the most radical thing i have in mind in the future is and upper and lower port and polish and may be a 4.2 stoker kit.
I just shot over a message to ya- 97veesixer. We're both in the 200k++ mileage club!
Mileage is no big issue. If the Mustang is something you love then keeping it going shouldn't be a problem. I got my first dyno run a few months ago and she kick some ass. If faithful maintenance has been done, it can be really fun. If I can help, just ask. Alot smarter people on here than me but I have had my hands inside of her quite a bit. Have fun!:yelpleased:
honestly i have no clue.. your biggest enemy is rust.. anything else that happens would pretty much be a random occurrence. like something caused by the extreme age of the material exaggerating a flaw within it. that, you cant really protect against.. except by random replacement/upgrade of parts.. best advice, i think, is take good care of it and inspect the car regularly..
The only "mod" I would even consider would be to drop in a complete lower mileage split port motor. Good luck.
