Coolant sensor problem

So my cluster isnt reading the engine temp, i jumped the colant sens plug and the needle rose so i know its not the cluster. i also changed the coolant sensor and the radiator fan switch(the one that looks just like the coolant sensor) and still the needle will not read... the car does have a normal thermostat and i know the engine is warming up because the heater works.. im really confused and stumped with this problem.. what else could cause this to not read...

thank you in advance

I would def. check the wiring for breaks around the connector even if ur able to get the gauge to signal. in my experience most of the connectors ive replace looked fine but were bad anyway if u replace the wiring and plug make sure to use heat shirink tubing to protect the new connection
