How Do You Remove Fog and Haze from Mustang Headlights?

does anyone have any tips on how to remove the "fog" from the headlights. i bought newer ones bc the original lights were really bad. but now the new ones are starting to fog over. the car is garage kept i'm stumped

for some reason the plastic they used on the front lights does this, the back lights don't have this problem though. what you need is to find some really light grit sandpaper about 2000 grit and get some lens defogger from your local auto parts store. then you buff the lights with the sand paper and then apply the solution and buff it in with a soft cloth. I forgot what solution I used was called but it really helped to clean the lights up.


2000 mustang v6, 5 spd
go: american muscle cai, flowmaster 40's dual exhaust,spec stage 1 clutch

show: painted brake calipers,angel eye lights

tuner and bullitt rims in the future

Is the plastic hazing or is there condensation inside of the headlight unit? My lights had over 115k on them, I bought a headlight restoration kit and they are like new now. My high school auto teacher had a problem with water getting inside of his lights on his Taurus, to solve it he drilled a small hole in the bottom so the water could drain out. Hope this helps with your "fog" problem
