What gears should i get for my v6 rear end.

Ok im a daily driver. Im going to get a shop to install posi trac at the same time with gears but i dont know what size gears to go with 3.73 or 4.10. :?: i have a 04 v6 auto. So which one will i be better off with...


2004 3.9L V6 Silver mustang
Mods-bbk cai, shorty headers and tb. Sct tune. Divorced duals.
Future Mods-H mid pipe.410 gears and t lok.

If you go with 3.73 it will give you quicker acceleration but still keep your mpg decent as well. When you get into the higher gears with the 4.10, such as 5th you will cruise at a higher RPM which causes greater gas consumption. Some people can't tell the difference but that's what I have heard from a lot of people.

If you dont plan on s/c or t/c it... then 4.10s are the answer.

4.10s are recommended for automatics over 3.73s

2003 3.8L V6 4R70W
Windstar Upper Intake with cool-air intake, MAC LT headers, BBK O/R H-pipe, and flow 40s, SCT tuner, FRPP Alum. D/S, 3.73 gears, Auburn HP limited slip, and Team Z LCAs, Eibach sway bars.
Best 1/4 time: 15.036 @90.92mph, 2.148 60'

If you really want to push it u can get 4.56's lmao then you would really haul @$$

BV heads, P&P lower, windstar upper, comp 218/226, 4.2 bottom end, 3k stall, flow 40's, O/R x-pipe, Pacesetter lt's, Xcal2, 65mm tb, CAI, 8.8 w/ 3.73's, MM LCA's
coming soon: blower cam and intercooled M112
