need some assistance....

im thinking about doing the windstar intake swap, but i was just going to go to the junk yard and get one instead of buying the 400$ kit. what i was wondering is do i just need the upper manifold (black one) or what? and id there anything else i would need off the van? i did away with the whole egr system and can make my own backets if needed. anything would be great. and my girlfriend wants it done to hers too, but she has a stock hood would it still fit?

thanks

yes it will fit under the stock hood i have mine under the stock hood and have no issues just remove the insalation under the hood. i love haveing the windstar kit on it added so much power in the high end rpms just be carful how you do the throttle body i have 2 freinds that did there intake and when the floored it the throttle body got stuck back under the hood and it got stuck in the floored position lol soo test it with the hood closed with revees before terrorising the streets lol good luckk besure to post pix when ur done.

A bit maybe.....

I wouldn't say it clears a stock hood with no issues, that IAC valve sticks up there a bit, and unless you shave it, fill, and then relocate it, its going to hit the factory hood.

well for me it did becouse i did my long tubes at the same time so yes for me it did and no not an Exaggeration. and from what i can see from ur mods list on your profile.... you havent done it so how could u b so sure of the power differense you feel. granted theres not alot in low end rpm power but u deffinatly feel the difference in high end so dont be too quick to comment on someones post. especially since your not even contributing to the question.

While I'll agree it gives u more rev room up high, I have Lt's too but they were added later on, it's nothing major I will say there is some better response too when having fun playing with the pedal lol

But as this right here says ^ it's just an intake, wish it had that kind of effect, but hey nothing a little (illegal) sneaky Pete system can't fix

It pretty much covers most of the bases. I would have thought the OP read the swap article already?

you would think.. but too often people dont follow advice and then still ask for help.. all one has to do is read the instructions... there is no itemized list in the document(i just read it) but its not hard to read it and write down stuff one doesn't have in their possession that are required for the swap
