Using IAT from 1999-2000 on 2001+ Mustang

If I were to pull the wires out of my MAF sensor for the IAT, splice them into a 99-00 pigtail, could I run a 99-00 remote IAT and it function properly?

Good to know.

Is this somewhat common to do or something?

+1 Kyle,

The plugs can be used as either. If you need the extra harness for a separate MAF/IAT, No need to re-pin, it plugs in a little further down the harness. I have one. Most go from the separate, to the 05+ MAF, which is integrated like yours.

So that portion of the harness has a connector that is just for the MAF/IAT?

Would I just get a 99-00 sub-harness and switch it out with mine? Or am I not reading that correctly?

Basically I am going to be running a Lightning meter on my 01 and it has no IAT in it, so I need to add the IAT into my pipe. I know the meter is overkill for now, but it won't be later.

For now? No. But I always wanted to build a V6 car. First on the list is my fox of course, getting the 408 going is priority one after school, but I've always wanted a nice chrome yellow 94/95 GT as a daily driver.

When I get to that point, then yeah I want to do some experimenting with either my current 01, or buy another car to mess with.

That is correct. If you look further down your MAF harness, you will find a round plug that has both your IAT and MAF only. Disconnect that, plug the 99-00 harness in, and you now have them separated.......

Remember, any time you go from one MAF to another, it will change the way your computer reads the flow. MAF sensors dictate how much gas is thrown into the motor......

Thanks Tom, and yes I am well aware that the scale will need to be changed with the other meter. Once I pan this whole TB and intake set-up out, then I will take it to my tuner.

So what would you charge to send that sub-harness out to me?
