Yes it would be fine. And no there not the same size. The 205 is 10 mm wider than the 195

Just an old ford...

i knew what the difference means, but it won't effect the car in anyway ?
less gas mileage, less control and it won't have any problem streching onto the rim ?

The tire shop can tell you if it is within specs to fit on your rim. Or, any major tire company's website will list all their tires and the rim width ranges that each size will fit.

You may find you feel like you have more control since skinnier tires to not grip grooves in the road and "track" as much as the wider tires.

it should be fine but the only issues you may have with it are some uneven wear patterns but i would go with a 195/70 or 75 series tire instead of the 65 so our odo wouldnt be affected as much

The 195 is a bit shorter, about a half inch. Possibly throw off the speedo a bit, not much though.

It's gonna look funny. That's a big car for such small tires. That size is popular on compacts. Other than getting them for free, I wouldn't put them on my car.

yeah i agree. im gonna get rid of my 215/65/15s and hopefully get some 235 or 245/55/16s this summer. and yes i will get 16 inch wheels to fit those. to me, wider tires look much better on these cars. anything smaller than a 205s (preferably 215s) makes the car look like its sitting on bicycle tires...

the wider tires are also nice i put 245 45 17's on the front and 275 35 17's in the rear for that staggered look up from stock 16's and man does it look better.
