Question O/D confused?

Now I read the other 2 threads, but I need to ask,
I thought O/D gives you more power?
And when your going fast and you want to slow down take the O/D off?

But in the other threads they are saying if you want more power drive with the O/D off ( with the light on ), in other words if I want more of a weel spin I should keep the O/D off? and the same for 0 - 60 ?

Please clear this up for me?

OD doesn't give you more power, the engine gives you more power.

the OD button is overdrive. If you're passing at highway speeds, and your OD is off it will stay in 3rd gear-which will enable you to not have to downshift. That's all it does.

The computer itself doesn't care if the OD is on or off when shifting below 45 mph, or when accelerating from a stop.

The computer controls the shifting.

Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his countrymen work for nothing...Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar?Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just,so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well...But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain,on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion. O/D is 4th gear.

doesnt really come into factor of taking off.
-don't need it on for going up hill because you want to be in lower gear and good for MPG becuase at high speeds you want to be at low RPMs.

Unplug your battery for 5 min, restarting the computer, then drive the car like hell(like you want it to move) and the computer will learn the shift pattern. (a little trick I learned from KS ) lol
