Question What is the original tire size for a 3.8L 1996 Mustang?

What is the original tire size for a 3.8L 1996 Mustang? Purchased a used one and the tires don't look right.

15" I think, some may have come w/ 14" steel wheels . ..

tyre size

I`m pretty sure original sizes are; 205/65x15,205/55x16,or 245/47x17 dependent on options chosen when new,hope this may help...Paul

you can fit 225/55/r15 and perhaps 235s depending on the tire.

on the 16s you can fit 245s . ..

You can always go to TireRack to find this info out, they have OEM equipment. For the '96 Mustang it was 205/65-15.

2003 Tropic Green Metallic 3.8L V6: MGW Interior Billet Accessories (knobs and pony shift), Bullitt Fuel Door, Silver Bullitt Rims w/245/45-17.

According to "standard catalog of Mustang 2nd Edition", the V6 mustangs came with 15 inch rims wearing P205/65-15, the GT came with 16 inch rims wearing 225/55-16, the Cobra came with 17 wearing 245/45-17...
