4R70W won't go into gear 3.8 Mustang

I just got a 3.8 96 mustang that will not go into gear. The shifter moves through the selection range but the car will not move. I am looking for info on possible quick fixes or should I just replace the transmission. Please let me know if anyone has delt with this same issue before.

Have you checked your transmission fluid?

How many miles are on the car?

The fluid level is good and it doesn't look burnt. It has roughly 200,000 miles on it.

oh! then yeah, it's duty rated for 200,000 miles, you'll likely need to swap -the bands are likely worn out . ..

You can check the linkage, but I don't think you'll have much luck .. . .

Ok some more info is that when I put it into any gear the engine stalls. I think that the transmission might be locked up but I have no idea yet.
