I picked up a 67 coupe in South Carolina. The place I got it from has a 68 Cougar with a 9 inch rear end. This is my first Ford rebuild so I know little about the 9 inch. He says it will bolt right up but I want to verify that. The other question I have is its configuration. Since I've worked...

I have a picture of the tag on my rear end and was wondering if that could be decoded to tell if it is an 8 inch or a 9 inch as well as what gears would be in it too. Here's a pic of the tag. Any info would be great! thanks!

New here! Bought a 65 Convertible a month ago. The entire body, frames, pans and miscellaneous were redone to primer about 13 years ago with NOS parts. Has been stored ever since. It is gutted and ready for the long climb back onto the road. A 6 cylinder auto car that I'm converting to a 94...

Hello everyone, I have a 1965 mustang coupe with a 351 Windsor a C4 auto tranny and from what I've been told, a 7.25 rear end. I was out messing around... doing dumb stuff in my classic and popped my spider gears, on turns she pops and clanks from the rear. Now I know that's a very weak rear...

I bought a 9" rear a while ago for my 65 mustang and am finally getting around to putting it in. I think i have everything i need except the spring plates. The 9" takes 3 1/16 inch u-bolts and i think my eight inch only took 2 3/4 inch. I had originally planned on just making the holes slotted...

I bought a 9 inch rear yesterday for my 1965 mustang. The guy I bought it from pulled it from under a 68 mustang because he wants to restore the car completely original and is putting an 8 in rear in it. He told me that the car was owned by an older guy for a long time before he sold to a kid...

Can this 9inch rear end fit on my 1968 mustang that was originally an inline six and now has a 1991 5.0 with a t5 transmission? will the driveshaft fit as well??? "Vintage Ford 9" Rear End, 3:00 to 1, 5 lug. Roughly 54" wide... Came out of a 1961 Ford Galaxie with a 3-Speed Cruise O Matic...

I have an opportunity to receive a few complete 9 inch rear ends. Not sure of mileage or condition. My question is is it going to be easier to swap an 8.8 LS with discs on it in my 86 capri or get the 9 inch narrowed? Thanks for any help.

I am upgrading my 8 inch rear end to a 9 inch rear end in my 1965 mustang. I purchased the 9 inch housing from moser and the 3rd member rebuilt off of ebay. I am wondering if i will need to modify the length of my driveshaft when i install the 9 inch rear end? Thanks
