I was wondering if I could use the cats from a 2015+ mustang gt onto my 2011 gt and pass smog. My car currently doesn’t pass smog in California and was wondering if the 2015+ will work for smog. I will have them welded if need be.
It turns out that dropping a Chevy LS into a classic Ford Mustang isn't the most sacrilegious engine swap around. We've found one that will have the heads of both automakers spinning in their graves. It's a 1968 Ford Mustang with an Italian heart. A Ferrari V8.

Hi guys, I need some advice.
I'm in the market for buying a '66 289 V8 and using it as a daily driver.
I'm also aiming to keep it running a few years and sell it in the end when I move back to the UK.
I live in Carlsbad, CA and would be driving max 15 miles a day (5.5 to work, 5.5 back, added...
Hello. I'm in the process of resto-modding my 1965 Mustang coupe, and I think it may have a thermactor but I'm not sure. So I have some questions.
1. What is a thermactor?
2. How do I tell if I have one?
3. Are there any benefits to removing it? Does it effect horsepower?
Here are 2 pictures...
Hello, I'm Adam and I bought a 1966 coupe this morning.
It's a LOT rougher around the edges than I wanted, but I get impulsive when I'm excited. Plus, it was in my budget... although, after all the work it needs, a nicer specimen might have been a better route to go.
I was initially pretty...
I'm looking at buying a used 2011-2012 Mustang GT possibly online. This would mean that I would possibly get a non-CA emissions approved vehicle. I know if it doesn't have the sticker it has to have at least 7500 miles on it for CA to consider it a used car. Once it's past that mark...
Saw this and thought it might be of interest to the Ca residents on the forum.

Not sure how the numbering system will work though.
Good Luck and be safe
Hello Mustang Fans! I am a gear head that also runs an online electronics business in California.

I'm looking to replace my back tires soon and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions of good and affordable tires for a 2003 Mustang GT? I'm willing to sacrifice speed for traction if that helps any. Also, I'm in southern CA, so something that does well in the West Coast heat would...
Is there a compiled listing of 2011 Mustang GT parts that have received California's approval? Have any aftermarket folks pursued that approval yet?
I'm currently stationed in Nevada and expect to be reassigned to SoCal in 2013. Sure would like my car to be CA legal when I...

I'm considering painting my brake calipers red on my new 2011 GT/CS (black). I'm interested in hearing your opion on how this will look. Also, I'd appreciate any pics of red calipers on the 19" Argent Painted Machined-Aluminum wheels that come with the california package.
So I was disappointed to learn today that the California Premium Package only offers leather interior in charcoal.
As I began placing my order together to get my car right from the factory, the look I wanted was black exterior with beige/tan leather interior. (This may seem a bit too 1980’s...
