Hi guys Long time stalker first time poster, im at a loss. I have a 65 mustang with a 351 ford performance crate engine with around 2k miles on it. Everything has been working fine up until recently when it was idling a little rough but i can feather the gas and keep it going, once it warmed...

Hey guys have a question about a Holley carb I was rebuilding for my '68. This is the first Holley I've ever messed with. I bought it used and it was all intact and in really really good shape and had a brand new electric choke put on it. (Only paid $20 for it too!) I got it home and started...

Ok guys, I have a 1968 Mustang with a freshly rebuilt 289. Problem is, it has a 2bbl carb and produces crappy power. I want to upgrade to a 4bbl carb. My questions are 1. Do i need to replace valves?...2. Suggestions on carb size and manufacturer? 3. Intake preferences? 4. Since I am already...

So I posted on here about a month ago about my 1968 Mustang with a rebuilt 302 in it. I've rebuilt the carb twice. New distributor, new pertronix ignitor (my problem was still there with the points) new cap and rotor. Already did a compression test. Did the spraying around the intake for...

So I have a '68 with a '72 302 in it. I've already got it bored out and all that good stuff. It has a 2bbl on it but I want to put a 4 on it. I'm not one for using junk, but in a yard nearby there are actually a lot of older motors in really good shape. People there have common sense and...

Hey everyone, I just made a similar post but I thought I'd start one slightly more relevant to the problem. My Autolite 1100 is making a really loud crackling noise at idle. You can hear it even with the air cleaner on. It sounds like someone is sucking up fluid with a straw, but a lot louder...

Hello All: let me first thank everyone in this forum and learned a lot from it. I am having trouble with my freshly, professionally rebuilt engine. 289, 2 Bl carb, autolite 2100 ( freshly rebuilt ), timing now at 12 degrees BTC ( i tried anywhere between 6 to 12 degrees with vacuum off and...

Alright so I have a 68 mustang with a 302 in it. I had been having some fuel problems so I replaced everything. Lines, fuel pump etc. Only thing I hadn't done was the carb. Drove it about 20 miles away at 60-65 all the way. Then brought it right back home. Didn't hesitate or anything. No...

Alright so it was a nice day today so I decided to take my '68 out for a cruise. I drove it to the gas station which is 10 miles from where I live and it ran kinda sluggish. And it only has run like this when I get between 55-60. Sometimes it comes out of it. Sometimes it doesn't. After I got...

Hey all, Today I installed a Performer RPM and a Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke carb on a 351w. I got the distributor dialed in and adjust the carb well and the engine was running great. I took the car out and the car felt strong and then all of a sudden the engine quits. I pulled over and...

Hey all, I am installing a new Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 600cfm carb on top of a 351w in a 1965 mustang. The hood is one of those eleanor style hoods but underneath doesn't really seem to provide much more space than the stock hood. My question is: before I install this...

Hey all, Just wondering how much power gain (not expecting anything crazy, was just curious) I should expect from swapping the stock 2 barrel and stock intake to an Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel and Performer Intake? Car has Flowmaster dual exhausts, electronic ignition, and hooker headers, and...

Hey guys, I got a rebuilt 302 with a 1850 - 3 holley carburetor that came with the car when i bought it. (before the engine was rebuilt). I'm having trouble tuning this carburetor. I have read a few threads and they say that these carburetors are only for specific types of engines, does this...
