Ok, this is probably basic, but most of my experience is back in the 60's and 70's models. I have a 2007 GT Convertible. Having a problem with it running very rough... like about to shake itself apart under acceleration. The really odd thing is the first 2 times it happened it eventually...

Okay so ever since i got the car i noticed that the vacuum gauge allways had a funny dip in the needle. I have an over sized cam so the needle is never steady... I use to get 10-11 psi but before put the car away for the winter i noticed that i was only getting 6-7 psi. I thought maybe carb...

Ive been in the process of rebuilding a 1968 mustang fastback. It has a 289, that we had rebuilt as a 302. It has the stock 289 heads on it, upgraded cam (not sure what the specs of it is). originally had 2v but we upgraded to an edelbrock 600cfm 4v. Weve put approx. 500 miles on it since the...

My motor is toast, I know that. It overheats quickly, hesitates sometimes, has trouble starting etc. I am in the middle of doing a compression test and #7 has 0 compression. 0 compression!? Is this even possible? Seems highly unlikely to me.

Hello there. I just did a an engine compression test on all 8 cylinders a little bit ago and 7 out of 8 cylinders were in the range of 137 to 142 PSI with the exception of cylinder 2 which checked out at 116 PSI. There are a lot of miles on the engine. I'd say almost 100 thousand. It was rebuilt...

Just got it running again, had ignition issues(brand new cd ignition box crapped on me). Have smoking issues (burning oil) which is what lead me to the compression test. This is a low compression motor, 8.5:1 so I am not sure if the readings are inline with were the should be. I am getting...

I just did a compression test with a screw in compression gauge I bought earlier and I'm not sure about the results... Here are my results and I would love some feedback on what you guys think and/or any help/guidance you can give me! :helpsmilie: Ok, first off I know I should run the engine...

Well I got the compression test done, it didnt do so hot on the first test, when they did the wet test it rated at 125psi. The let the cylindar drip free of oil and did it again and it rated at 25 psi. So what the mechanics are thinking is that its a bad intake valve. Does any body have any...

Ok tomarrow Im having a compression check done on my car due to the fact that I keep getting a mis fire on cylinder #5. I am trying to rule out a bad piston ring and hoping its just a bad valve seal or head gasket as to why I am getting oil on the threads of my spark plug. I have done every...
