just recently installed a carbon fiber heat extractor hood....i have hood pins that need to be installed but just from looking at the length of the pins themselves they almost look like they won't reach all the way through the new hood. i don't wanna drill holes in the hood only to find out...

im installing a carbon fiber hood along with hood pins....question is, when i drill the holes through the carbon fiber, do i need to coat the exposed carbon fiber w/ anything??? not sure if that makes sense or not.....
