I need to replace the Rack n Pinion. It's power steering and the seals are gone. I drove it dry until my forearms go tried. But really only a few times I lost all power steering.
Questions are as follows;
1. Should I replace the power steering pump?
2. My Tie Ends just had the ball joints...
While I had the car up to replace my power steering cylinder and hoses, I noticed that the toe didn't look quite right. Once the car was back down, I borrowed a tool and measured about 1/8" to maybe 3/16" toe-out. Looking at the specs in the shop manual and several on-line posts, it looks like...
there is about 1-2 inches of play in my steering wheel. i have heard a lot of different things that could be the problem: tie rod ends, steering boxes, u-joints, bushings. to be honest i don't even know where to start.
i bought a steeda bumpsteer kit but i cant get the tie rod out! ive been banging and banging it with the hammer and nothing!:headscratch: anyone have any tricks to removing it? im trying to get it running for tonight and the alignment shop closes in an hour and 30minutes!:happyhapp
