Run it to the dealer for an oil change and mention the noise.
It's too tough to diagnose a noise you can't hear.
The cooling fan is completely unrelated to HVAC controls.load said:Hello, I have a 2002 v6 mustang standard tranny. It seems that when the engine warms up fully, there is a little bit of engine noise noticable from inside the car. It's only noticable when the engine is idle. It sounds like a constant whine kind of sound, but it's not high-pitched. When i rev the engine, it seems to go away. When I turn on the heat - the noise seems to be amplified significantly inside the car. I checked under the hood while this happens, and I really can't notice it at all. :sosad:
I thought that it might be the crappy electric cooling fan - as the fan comes on when you turn the heat on (usually).
Please any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!
He's probably just hearing the normal whining noises that the 3.8 makes. It's a noisy engine.kscoyote said:The cooling fan is completely unrelated to HVAC controls.

Eh, you're probably right - I haven't had the car that long so i'm not used to the noises it makes. He's probably just hearing the normal whining noises that the 3.8
