Hoping to leverage some AFM collective wisdom for my 3.8L '04 V6, ~95k miles

My steering is nearly shot after many years of use -- nearly 2" of steering play at ~70 mph in either direction. Should I take a look at replacing the rack, the pump, or both? Currently balling on a budget so I'd prefer to put the money where it counts most.

I'd look into replacing the rack. The pump won't cause play

I would bet on tie rods being loose before condeming the $400 rack..

Check the steering shaft. Could be a worn joint.
