Unless I saw a big company name somewhere, it wouldn't touch my engine.

almost all turbo kits require a tubular k member kit...a little expensive kicker that is seldom mentioned...any good tuner can build you a turbo system, it's the install, tuning and supporting mods that really add up...expect to spend about $8000 to do it all.

Seems a little cheap. :yup:

And I was looking for deals like that too. Until I thought about it and decided maybe skimping on a FI system that is going to force another 100+ HP out of my engine might not be the smartest thing to do. :nono: :bigthumbsup

$380 for a handheld tuner, $280-300 for injectors, $500 dynotune, $100 for plugs, ?$? thermal wrap, fuel solution $300-700. It's a tuner kit. Still a good price. Actually it's a rediculous price. If I were truly considering it I would find a customer that has it. When stuff is that cheap, usually means China copied it and sold it. Pypes Longtubes are copies of Kooks and they actually use T304 stainless, so I can't say that their quality dropped off too much. On the flipside, if they cut corners to save money it would be in metal quality, bearings, fittings. That is such a big thing to skimp on quality. Turbo has gotta a lot going on with routing and clearances. It could be an awesome deal. It could work in the beginning and start giving problems later. Who knows. You really need to find someone with the kit since nobody knows about it. Shifter87 had a on3turbo that was saleing at $3800ish and that is was retarded cheap. He has a write up here if you search for on3turbo with him being the thread starter. And now this kit is $1200.....bottom line is just don't be the guinea pig unless you can afford **** to happen.

Someone else tried it out:
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/2005-2010-mustang-talk/294210-boost-brothers-turbo-kit.html

"Update...
The turbo broke after about two weeks, by broke I mean the bolt that holds the turbine wheel in place came off, and the resulting shaft play cause one fin to crack and break off. I emailed ss autochrome, he replaced the broken turbo with a different brand, I was hoping for the best, NOPE, put it on took it around the block without boosting checked for leaks then got on the freeway, boosted to 5 pounds. First time worked great, then my SECOND time boosting I hear a terrible noise... I get home and find much the same, the bolt was loose and the blades on the turbine broke.

The rest of the kit is working out good. Today I ordered a ceramic ball bearing turbo from O3P. In my opinion the kit isn't worth the money, save up and buy a different kit."

I know you're kinda joking but, I hate it that China makes replicas of American products. It pisses me off for our guys who put in the work and brains to figure out what works and then somebody comes by and says yep that works. They copy it and then turn right around and can sale it cheaper because they don't pay their people anything because their frickin' communits and they don't have to research design because that work is already done for them. Plus that money is going to them and not in our guys hands, some of it anyway. China is stealing and copying so much **** from us. It's like they have waged an economical war on us and our sorry *****-ass, don't-wanna-hurt-nobody's-feelings polotics let it happen. I'm done. Go China! Can I goto China and own land? Not like I want to.

On the link I installed that kit for that guy. The pipes are a good deal just get a name brand turbo. And keep in mind that, that kit are only ment for a Manuel transmission. Other than that it's a good kit. U can reuse your stock MAF sensor. Also the intake tube is big it touches the hood. All in all. The kit plus a good turbo. Your still ahead.

Hi.
i totally agree with you!! :bigthumbsup Its the same with German Products!! This problem is really big and will bring us all in the future a lot of problems. The chinese people got access to our hard developed technology very easy...Thanks to our governments.
Sorry that i have to say that this is the same in the arabic countries...They should work with their own technology, riding a camel instead of driving a tank. This would bring a lot more peace in the world...

. . . I hate it that China makes replicas of American products. It pisses me off for our guys who put in the work and brains to figure out what works and then somebody comes by and says yep that works. They copy it and then turn right around and can sale it cheaper . . . . .
this is going a little off topic, but yeah -- that's exactly what happened to my small manufacturing company; it got to the point where chinese copies were selling for less than our raw material cost . . . so we threw in the towel and closed the company. (lots of things we should have done differently to prevent that, but that is the short version of the story)

anyway it is a tough problem, we all like our standard of living which is largely supported by cheap imported products; do we really all want to start paying about 2X as much for eveything?

back to topic: I had a feeling there would be some cheepnis in this turbo, and I'm not ready to risk my warranty yet anyway, but keeping my eyes open for "someday"

My friend has this kit with the on3 ball bearing turbo and he loves it. I have to give it to on3 on that one. It's a good turbo spools really fast as if was a name brand. He is using a restrictors. And time will tell how long it lasts. I say why not buy it. It's good. But only if it's a Manuel trans car.

I don't like paying a lot of money. But I will never buy Pypes longtubes for that reason. I would never buy that turbo listed. I would do without or save my money. Sorry that happened to you.
