I recently bought my 99 GT with the upgrade wheels and tires off an 05 GT. The backspacing is quite different on these wheels, and the pirelli tires are a bit taller (235/55Z/R17). Has anyone else got these wheels/tires on their 99-04? If so, what size of wheel spacer have you used so that the fronts don't rub when the wheel is cranked?

the heigth shouldn't be a problem, there's only a half inch difference there. I would start with a half inch spacer to push the tires out a bit. Anything much more than that and you should look into getting longer wheel studs before using them.

these wheels/tires are on now with 1.25" spacers on rear and none on front. The fronts do rub on the sway bar and the plastic fenderwell now only when I crank the wheel 90% of the way. I want to install my springs (2" & 1.8") but I'm not sure if it's a wise idea with this tire/wheel combo. Do you think the 1/2 or 3/4 " spacer will allow me to install my springs with ok clearance?
