Well, I finally got the GT back from the paint shop. I've created an animal:happyhapp
I added a CDC classic chin spoiler, a xenon hood scoop, and CDC rear window louvers. If you look closely at the second picture, you can see the black panel I had painted on the hood, right off a '69 Mach 1. I came in 1-1/2" from the edge of the hood crease, added a 1/4" stripe, 1/4" space, the black for the remainder. They clear coated the entire hood afterwards with two coats of clear. You can't even feel the striping. :laughlitt Then they installed the scoop over the finished hood. I also had them remove and paint the rocker panels, rear spoiler, and the lower lip of the rear bumper cover black, then clearcoat the entire panel. I'ts very subtle, but has the effect of thinning out the car, if you know what I mean. They also painted the chin spoiler and installed it. I did the rear window louvers myself. I'm impressed, no rattles or squeaks. The only problem I had was fitting the outboard clips between the glass and the body. I had to file them down a hair to get them to fit.
They were supposed to put some stripes on the side of the car, just under the scallop, but they didn't get the right one in, and we decided to hold off.
All in all, it was worth the wait. Total cost for paint and parts was about 1800 dollars. I promised my wife I'd wait for the K&N CAI. After all, she needs to get me something for Christmas!

I thought about the quarter louvers, but I don't like how any of them attach and I do occasionally have kids in the back seat. The windows are small, but they can still see. I want peace in this car, not "Are we there yet?".
I like the look of the car with them. At first, I thought they looked a bit off, but after seeing them from a distance and from inside the car, I can honestly say I like them. My biggest fear was that they would rattle, but that isn't the case.

Thanks, That's just what I didn't want is a clone. In fact, there's a woman in the area here driving a V-6 with a GT front clip in the same color. Now, I realize this has been done since 1964, but now there's no-one who can mistake my car...which means I have to be a very good driver.

I got the rear louvers from Classic Design Concepts. They were $399.00 plus about $28.00 for shipping.

I was ready to do the rally stripes myself, but it seemed like everyone who was customizing their car did the stripes. If I'm going to go custom, I want something unique. I held off doing anything until I had some time to mull things over. I really liked the paint scheme on the Tiger Racing car (that's where I got the idea of painting the rocker panels and rear bumper lip black). From there, things kinda developed. I happened to be looking through a magazine and found a blue '69 Mach I and the inspiration hit. Hence the title 05 Mock I. That's what I got for my plate, too.
I like the shaker hood, but at about $700 it was a bit steep considering the other mods I wanted to do.:eyebulge:

I've got some additional views, including the one's you're looking for in my gallery. They should be pretty clear.

I used gloss black followed by 2 coats of clear on the entire panel. I can upload a better picture of the rear lower lip if you need it. I've gotten some very positive feedback on it. I chose to do a gloss finish rather than the original matt or semi-gloss, simply because I was trying to achieve a look, not reproduce something the car isn't. Personally, I don't think the rocker panels would look right in matt or semi. But hey, that's what customizing is all about!
The CDC rear louvers are hinged, so yes there is a gap. It doesn't seem to be too excessive. From the inside it's invisible since it's behind the blacked out area of the window.
If you need some better pictures, contact me off-line.
