clear the code and see if it comes back.

if you think something is wrong, replace the sensor.

Do you know how much a sensor runs for?
Click on the "05-10 GT Tech" page and on the upper right side of the page, click on "search this forum" type in "po340", grab a tasty beverage and settle in for a lot of reading. Lol
A lot of the members in those previous threads had success changing the alternator. Testing them said they were still good but it's explained in a lot of those threads why they're not.
Not being a smart a&$, just trying to help.

about 20 bucks online, about 35 bucks at brick and mortar like autozone, oreillys, etc.
It's probably your alternator. Lots of threads on this with an alternator replacement needed. Replaced my alternator over a year ago and the code P0340 never came back.
Yes it could be the alt, you can check for ripple yourself two ways, disconnect the connector from the alt, start car after clearing code and see if it comes back. Or use a digital multimeter set to a/c and connect it to the battery while running. If there is a/c coming back from the alt, the meter will pick it up. Since you are getting only one bank throwing the code, you can also swap cam sensors and see if the code swaps sides, if it does, then it's the sensor. If the code returns immediately, and it's not the sensor or the alternator, then it may have jumped time on that one side. You didn't mention the mileage, but if you are approaching 90k, expect two things to begin failing. The timing chain system and the oil pump. I don't mean to be a "Debbie downer" but the 3v is much more sophisticated than all other 4.6's and require more maintenance than the others. Hopefully it's the alternator or sensor.. I'll say a prayer for you lol..
